The Adventures of Terrik Zion

Whew! I just checked back on my last update and I had just finished up with recoloring TATZ issue 1 page 11, and today I wrapped up recoloring page 18! I’m really flying through these pages and I really like how they’ve been updated to match my current work. I ordered a new pack of bristol boards today, I’m going to make a drastic switch! Until today, I’ve only ever used Strathmore 300 Series smooth bristol in 14×17, but I’m going to switch over to Canson XL smooth bristol 11×17. Mostly because by switching to tabloid size, I’ll be able to run them through my printer and print my bleed/trim/safe template instead of ruling them off by hand. They won’t arrive for 7-9 days though so I’m hoping to finish recolors of issue 1 right when they arrive so I can start pencilling issue 6. Also, tonight I finally worked out a floorplan for the Red Cent! I know, I know, “But the Red Cent exploded!” I hear you say. And of course, you’d be correct. But the Red Cent is a very common Kawamori Heavy Industries light freighter design (it’s like the Toyota Corolla of space freighters) and another ship of this design will come into Terrik’s life sometime around issue 13 or 14 and will have a significant impact in the TATZ storyline, so I needed to work out where everything goes. It’s going to crashland and be damaged so I need to have everything laid out just so in order to facilitate certain story elements. Anyway, I’m rambling now so I’ll see y’all next week!
